Ex Igne et Vacuo

Ex Igne et Vacuo

The Process

I · Ignis

Fire

Each piece is heated to near the temperature of flowing lava.

II · Vacuum

Vacuum

The work is heat-treated under vacuum, removing the oxygen that would normally darken the surface.

III · Lumen

Light

What emerges is copper as it rarely appears in jewellery — soft, true pink, untouched by oxide.

IV · Tutela

Sealed

A microscopically thin protective layer seals the surface, preserving the pink against air and wear.
